Dr. Sonia Leziy

DDS, Dipl Perio, FCDS(BC), FRCD(C)

Dr. Leziy completed her dental degree (DDS) at McGill University, her residency (McGill University/Jewish General Hospital), and a post-graduate degree in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow of the ICOI, and a member of the Canadian Academy of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontists, and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. She has chaired and moderated scientific programs for several organizations. Dr. Leziy maintains positions on several editorial boards. She is the implant editor for the journal Inside Dentistry (Aegis publishing). Dr. Leziy is a key-opinion clinician with Straumann and 3Shape. Among her articles published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on implant esthetics and surgical protocols, she has also contributed 4 textbook chapters published by Quintessence Publishing (2008, 2011) and by Wiley Publishing (2018), and Quintessence Publishing (2022). Dr. Leziy has been involved in several clinical trials involving dental implant design advances. Her Elatus Dental Bio-architecture hands-on courses focus on soft tissue grafting advances using tissue allografts (dermal ‘ARC’ protocol) as well as guided implant surgery and restoration. She has developed a line of instruments to complement her grafting protocol- marketed by pronorthmedical.ca.

Dr. Leziy lectures internationally on a broad range of topics including implants, managing/preventing disease around implants, digital workflows, and advanced esthetics/periodontal plastic surgery. She was recognized among the top 100 clinicians in continuing education by Dentistry Today from 2007 to the present. She was the Lucy Hobbs Award winner (mentorship category) in 2012, the 2013 co-recipient of the Seattle Study Club Saul Schluger Award along with her partner Dr. Brahm Miller, recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Lecturer Award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Lecturer Award from the Greater NY Academy of Prosthodontics.

She maintains a full-time private practice in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Dr. Leziy is very family-centric. She is married to Brahm Miller and lucky to share two wonderful adult children and four grandchildren. When she isn’t focused on her practice and teaching, her interests include gardening, fishing, and foraging, exploring the beauty of Vancouver Island on her hikes and road bike (be nice to her on the roads!).

Dr. Brahm Miller

DDS, MSc. Dipl Pros, FCDS(BC), FRCD(BC)

Dr. Miller completed his dental degree (DDS) at McGill University, residency (McGill University/Jewish General Hospital) and post-graduate degree in Prosthodontics at the Medical College of Virginia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Miller has held numerous editorial board positions during his career, along with memberships in many prestigious societies/academies including the AAED, the ICOI, Association of Prosthodontists of Canada and of BC. Dr. Miller has also acted as a key opinion leader and consultant for numerous implant and dental technology companies including Nobel Biocare, BioHorizons, Rodo technologies and 3Shape.

Dr. Miller lectures internationally on implant-based oral rehabilitations and dental ceramics. He has been recognized for much of his career as a top clinician in continuing education by Dentistry Today. He has published in numerous peer reviewed journals on subjects relating to implant protocols and has contributed 4 textbook chapters published by Quintessence Publishing (2008, 2011) and by Wiley Publishing (2018) and Quintessence Publishing (2022).

He maintains a private practice in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Dr. Miller is also very family-centric. Lucky to be actively involved in the lives of his 2 children and 4 grand-children along with Sonia. Fishing, road-biking, hiking the mid-island trails keep his non-practice hours busy.

Dr. Mathieu Nault

DDS, MSc, Dip, Perio, DABP, FRCD(C)

Dr. Mathieu Nault received his dental degree from Montreal University in 2010 and subsequently completed a general practice residency program (2011) and a fellowship (2012) at the Jewish General Hospital affiliated with McGill University.

Dr. Nault practiced as a general dentist in Quebec before completing his post-graduate studies in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in 2016.

He received numerous awards in the field of dentistry, including the “Nobel Biocare Achievement Award in Osseointegration” for his clinical excellence. Dr. Nault was a clinical instructor at McGill University in 2012-2013. His research interest focused on the role of blood platelets in periodontal diseases.

Dr. Nault enjoys outdoor activities, such as surfing, telemark skiing and fishing.

Dr. Rouzbeh Ostadsharif Memar

DDS

Dr. Rouzbeh Ostadsharif Memar is a board-certified periodontist committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in all aspects of periodontal and implant therapy. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Toronto and completed his specialty training in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia.

During his training, Dr. Memar received several awards for academic excellence and research achievements. His research focused on jaw development using advanced CT scan imaging, contributing to a better understanding of craniofacial growth patterns and anatomy.

Dr. Memar is dedicated to creating a comfortable and transparent experience for his patients. He values long-term treatment outcomes, clear communication, and a personalized approach to care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Memar is family-oriented and enjoys staying active through basketball and other fitness activities. He believes in maintaining a balanced lifestyle and brings that same philosophy into his patient care.

Dr. Nathan Cain

DDS, FRCD(C)

Dr. Cain is a highly skilled prosthodontist. Originally from London, Ontario, he attended McMaster University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science with Kinesiology. Dr. Cain then went on to obtain his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University, followed by his Certificate in Prosthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he gained extensive knowledge in implant dentistry, digital dentistry, and treatment of complex dental needs. He is certified by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada as a Specialist in Prosthodontics.

Dr. Cain is passionate about dental education and had held part-time positions at the University of British Columbia. He is also a consultant for BC Children’s Hospital where he works alongside a team of specialists managing treatment for cleft lip and palate treatment, as well as other complex craniofacial treatment.

In his spare time, Dr. Cain enjoys spending time with family and friends, canoeing, hiking, and building his own surfboards. Having been a frequent visitor, Dr. Cain is thrilled to call Vancouver Island his home.
